Questions about cloud & devops
Do we have to use AWS?
No. AWS is the most common request and we work with it daily, but for smaller workloads a straightforward VPS is often several times cheaper for equivalent performance. We size the recommendation to the workload, not to the vendor.
Can you reduce our cloud bill?
Frequently, and often substantially. The usual causes are over-provisioned instances, idle managed services, unnecessary data transfer between zones, and forgotten environments. An audit is inexpensive and usually pays for itself immediately.
What if our deployment process is one person and a set of instructions?
That is the common starting point and the reason to fix it. We automate it so any team member can deploy safely, with rollback if something goes wrong.
Do you provide ongoing infrastructure management?
Yes, as a monthly agreement — monitoring, patching, backup verification and incident response. Alternatively we can set everything up and hand it over documented.
